It`s Official, Stephen Gately Died of Natural Causes

The cause of Stephen Gately`s sudden death has been disclosed. On Tuesday, October 13, Spanish police said the member of famous boy band Boyzone passed away because of natural causes and not from consuming alcohol and drugs.

According to an autopsy to the late singer`s body, at the time of his death, Stephen suffered a pulmonary oedema or a build up of fluid in the lungs, which results in respiratory failure. The officials claimed the condition is usually caused by the damage to lung tissue or circulation problems. The results of the autopsy was scheduled to be officially revealed at a court on October 13.

Stephen Gately was pronounced dead at 1:45 P.M. on Saturday, October 10 during his vacation in Majorca, Spain along with his gay partner Andrew Cowles. Grieving over Stephen`s unexpected death, his partners in Boyzone, Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch, said in a statement, "We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen." Later, they added, "Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world."
